Can I have my drink made in my Starbucks travel mug?
Q. I got a great 16 ounce Starbucks travel mug as a gift and I'm wondering if I can bring it in and have them make my specialty drink (vanilla latte) in that rather than their cardboard cups?
Asked by exericy - Fri Jan 5 11:46:28 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes you can! In fact anyone can bring in a personal cup, Starbucks or not. It will usually get you a discount. At my store it was $.10 off a drink. Just tell them you have a personal cup. Great way to save some hard earned cash on your favorite drink and save the environment.

What is the best strategy to use if you want to work in a travel agency?
Q. I earned a Certified Travel Agent fro ICTA with specialties in both the Caribbean Islands and The Pacific Rim (Hawaii, Fiji, Australia, NZ}. I have a little Travel Agency experience but that was several years ago.
Asked by Bebe - Mon Aug 4 15:06:32 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Why not try doing the Travel Agency from home. Since you already have experience, you can work towards building your own travel agency business from home. Your experience can be an asset in travel booking businesses like Traverus. If you have time, visit the websites.

What job has more paid travel positions, dental hygienist or nurse?
Q. I am considering whether to be a nurse or dental hygienist. I realize that being a nurse has more career specialties. Are there also opportunities for advancement as a dental hygienist, such as starting one's own practice or moving into management. Also, are there any "traveling dental hygienist" positions that are paid. Can you join the Peace Corps as a dental hygienist? I really want opportunities, job security, and flexibility in whatever job I choose, but I would also like a pleasant work environment.

traveling in usa. Wish to take specialty cheese as gift. Checked or carryon?
Q. I wish to take a container of specialty cheese from my state to a friend in maryland. I was going to wrap it with newspaper and place it in a plastic zip-lock bag to keep it as cool as possible. Is carry-on or checked luggage the proper method for transporting? Also wish to take locally manufactured candy bars as well. Same question.
Asked by justalady21 - Tue Aug 19 12:57:37 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Assuming you mean traveling in the summer, I would definitely say carry-on. It's not uncommon for checked luggage to sit out on the very hot tarmac for a while waiting to be loaded. If you have to check it, you can buy styrofoam coolers that are sturdy enough for shipping (I save the ones from Omaha steaks) and pack in that along with a few freezer packs.

Virginia is for lovers, but go to the Holocaust museum or the Edgar Allen Poe museum, both are fun to go to and you can get souveniors from there... otherwise, I don't know what other things you should get... Richmond is not really exciting to me... sorry... hope this helps though!!!

Is this a good deal or a scam?
Q. My husband entered a drawing at our county fair for a free trip to Disney World. The other day they called and said our name had been drawn. We didn't win the free trip, but they gave us an offer. For $298, we can get a hotel in Orlando for 4 days, Vegas for 4 days, and Lauderdale and Daytona for 3 days each. All we would have to pay fore would be airfare and spending money. The company is called "Specialty Travel" but I couldn't find anything about them on Google.

A. It is a common way to try and trick people into booking a trip. You may want to check out the company at the better business bureau website bbb.org. They list all the complaints filed against a company in the past three years. Below site has a list of things you can check to find out if a company can be trusted or might be a scam. Source(s):

Which RN specialty is the most in demand and the highest paid?
Q. Hi everyone! I'm about to go back to school to get my Associate's degree in Registered Nursing (RN) so I can eventually be a travel nurse, which is my dream job. My question to you is which RN specialty is the most in demand and the highest paid? Also, many travel agencies say to have at least one year's experience in acute care. But what does this mean? Also, what is the application process like when getting new RN licensure in different states when travelling to new, different RN assignments? Is it easy or hard? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Asked by Seeker1898 - Mon Jul 14 02:26:00 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. At the hospital where I work, we most frequently use traveling nurses in the Operating Room, Emergency Department and Critical Care. Acute care means one year experience in an inpatient setting in a hospital. Again, it would be best for you to gain experience in the area where you wish to work as a "traveler". However, it is extremely difficult to "break into" jobs in the OR, ED and CCA. My hospital would NOT employ a traveling nurse in the OR or any other area who did not have experience in that specific area. Licensure: You would need to apply for an RN license in each state where you would want to work. That can be expensive as there are fees associated with application. Also, be careful to check out on-going education… [cont.]

Would fast food bibs, available on request, be a win-win and promote more sales of the messier menu items?
Q. Food spill accidents do happen even when careful and 60% of business comes from the drive thru yet most food too messy to eat in the car as the D-Thru was designed for convenience ie. dashboard diners. Theres nothing convenient about accidentally ruining your clothes on the way to work or meeting and the hassle to keep from it. It's easier to just avoid the D-thru in those situations therefore you don't enjoy a meal and the restaurant loses a sale. Maybe a specialty disposable travel bib would solve that problem?

A. Great Idea. Here is a link to someone offering a product for what you describe. I like the pocket at the bottom to catch those bits that miss your mouth that can be saved for later consumption. Maybe one like this could be won by points or through a game giveaway. There are disposable ones that are made for people in wheel chairs. At less than 9 each they could easily be added as an option on the menu.
