A. I haven't taken a 3 year old to Lapland, but I took my kids all over the country, including to northern Canada when they were small. I think it is a good thing to do.

A. Went to Kiruna (Sweden) last February and Finnish Northern Lapland in Jan previous year. Not First Choice, we don't do packages. Organised everything ourselves, very easy on the net! We stayed at the Kakslauttanen hotel. Their bus provides a 30-minute transfer to/from from Ivalo airport. Stayed in log cabin with triple glazing and walked in the snow to main reception/restaurant/shop building . Fabulous. Could have spent one night in an ice hotel but chickened out! Was assured it is very snug on the reindeer skins! Went dog sledging and also with reindeer (bit tame). Dog sledging was great. I drove and wife sat on sledge. wife loved the socialising with dogs beforehand, they all want to go out and 200 huskies barking… [cont.]
