While playing the electric guitar, is it bad to pick too close to the bridge?
Q. (I play rock). I noticed that most guitarists pick the strings more up the bridge then i do. Im trying to play up more but ive gotten too used to playing near the bridge. I also rest my hand on the bridge. Any Suggestions?
Asked by dan - Thu Jun 11 17:25:33 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This depends on whether or not you have a suspended bridge or a fixed bridge. Suspended bridges aren't entirely bolted to the guitar, so they are able to wobble. Resting your hand on a suspended bridge can give you a nice tremolo effect (kind of like a whammy bar) but it also screws with your tuning. In contrast, resting your hand on a fixed bridge shouldn't have any effects (good or bad). Overall, I don't think I would call it bad to rest your hand on the bridge. You just might want to be careful of the tuning! Good luck and have fun! :)

A. YOU failed to say what the alert was for? if you got banned and did not abuse anyone then here is what happened; In yahoo GAMES! this is what's happening. Several months ago yahoo installed a program to catch web cam bots. People started getting banned by the hundreds, now most people know about this program. But it still catches a few in their eagerness to get back to the game they got booted or disconnected from. The problem now is that yahoo has added new technology in it s efforts to stop the newest wave of sex cam bots. And like the older version it s got lots of glitches .Now doing even common things like table hopping, chatting fast and a lot in lobby. Can get you banned by yahoo. If your DCed or booted out of game for low ping.… [cont.]

Asked by Peggy C - Thu Oct 29 08:56:35 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Cards are actually quite strong. The trick is to keep them from bending. So, what you need to do is roll all the supporting cards into cylinders. Using this system, I just rolled a single playing card into a cylinder and I supported two books--one of which was a phone book. It collapsed on when I added the third book. Take a card Turn it horizontal and roll it into a large diameter cylinder. The edges should overlap slightly. Tape. You will have enough vertical support with two of these cylinders, but you might want to use four for overkill. Build the horizontal structure per Civ A, above. But you might want to experiment with tightly roll the card acting as cross beams.

A question about Bridge. I read a murder mystery in which some people were playing Bridge and one of them?
Q. was the "dummy" and he wandered away and was doing other stuff while the non dummies were playing. Why was he the dummy? Was he being punished for doing something dumb? Or had he already lost and couldn't play any more. Or did they only need three players. In which case why are people always looking for a fourth for bridge?
Asked by Lleh - Wed Feb 14 02:48:52 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It means that person's partner won the auction, so that person (the dummy) has to display their cards on the table, and doesn't need to do anything else. For a detailed explanation of bridge rules, see this article:

Q. What is the difference between bridge size and poker size playing cards?
Asked by ligeglad - Sat Dec 10 03:23:41 2005 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Playing cards are 3.5" in height. Poker (Wide) size cards are 2.5" (62mm) wide and Bridge size cards are 2.25" (57mm) wide. Most casinos and poker rooms use bridge size (yes, bridge) cards because they are easier to handle and shuffle than the larger poker size cards. Please note that the above answer is slightly incorrect. Poker size cards are wider compared to bridge size Also please consider using plastic cards. They are much much longer lasting and can even be washed if they get dirty.

(2) A player info dialog box will open. (3) You will see a spot to send an instant message. Type it in and press [Send] (4) Please note there is no guarantee that they will read it. My guess is you are playing Bridge on Yahoo? My guess is you have joined a table?... If so: (1) At the bottom of the screen, in the center, you will see a white box. (2) It is deviated with a small top part and a large bottom part. (3) Type in message in the small top part and press [Enter] key on your keyboard. A. The number of tricks you have, I think, is by the dummy. The number that the opponents have will be next to one of them. If they've claimed, and the claim box shows up, you can drag it off the table, so that you can see if their claim is correct and see the number of tricks you have...I hope that helped:) ...Try playing on BBO (Bridge Base On-line). the format is much more realistic, and is alot more user-friendly. Although the majority of rooms are duplicate, there ARE some social rooms, and they are categorized by skill level...

A. The most common reason for your problem is an easy fix! Yahoo games use virtual memory to play. Running low or out of virtual memory causes game to freeze. Increasing your virtual memory helps with the freezing/getting booted problem. You can increase your memory by going to start button, settings, control panel, system, advance tab, performance, advance tab, virtual memory, change it, make it 1200 kb or higher, In both boxes, click apply then ok
